Like a bastard offspring of electro, Miami Bass and hiphop, the music is raw and basic, often delving into X-rated lyrical territory, like Detroit’s take on Carry On movies or, at its extreme, gutter level obscenity or street corner banter. In this merciless compilation, Godfather bangs down 66 tracks, assisted MC-wise by DJ Omega in what’s purported to be the world’s first ever completely digital mix series using Scratch live technology and tracks only available digitally. The roll-call includes DJ Rashad, DJ Nasty, DJ Surgeon, DJ Spin, AUX 88, DJ Deeon, Erotek, Aaron Carl and the man himself. Wired, speedy, crude and exciting in Godfather’s all-out assault. Just the thing to fire up when things are getting a bit bland or the current electro-derivative is sounding a bit weak!
