Perspects gathered cult acclaim via releases on labels such as Clone, Ghostly International, and Suction, and now delivers a new full length outing for Interdimensional Transmissions. Employing tape, electronic noises, acoustic percussion, live drums and human voices, it’s a concentrated, compact hit of full-blooded electro, allowing Ian Clark (Perspects) to flex his larynx on tracks like “Photofinish” and “Too Much Too Fast”. Banded into four distinct parts, the emphasis varies dramatically, varying between dark soundscapes, techno, synthpop and early nu-romantic era electro. Even with the mix of machines and played elements, it still feels like something that’s been germinating in some alien laboratory, clinical, sterile, vaguely out of control. Electronic music from the back alleys of the future.
