Roman Flugel
Live At Robert Johnson Volume 5
LARJ

Alter Ego’s Roman Flugel steps up to steer another delirious selection in the latest volume of the fabulous mix series – believe it or not, his first. He does an amazing job managing to span and weave so many different electronic stratas with a natural flow that really feels like a journey when he ends up with his own ‘Brian Le Bon’. Roman drops a few of his, both under his name and as Soylent Green [the belting ‘Humpty Acid’], but also spotlights names including Itzone Azul, Molex, Ben Klock, Maetrik, Ratsnake, Soulphiction and Idioma with the unspeakably gorgeous ‘Landscapes’. He also slips in old school Chicago titan Armando with a Thomos edit of ‘Don’t Take It’, which is a good example of how Roman can homage the roots of acid house then use its spirit as a launch-pad into the future with often magical results.
