Latest compilation from San Fransisco’s Transport Recordings label. It’s intention is to promote different international DJ talent, and launching the series is Rome’s DJ MFR. It’s a double CD affair, with the first CD providing a mix from MFR, the second an unmixed spotlight on some of his productions to-date. The mix is fantastic, a great selection of West Coast influenced tracks – old and new – that groove along at the deeper end of the spectrum. Players include Inland Knights, Deep South Playaz, Miguel Migz & Jay-J, Connie Harvey’s timeless “Thank You Lord”, et al, not a duff track in sight, and well put together to create a strong fluid mix throughout. DJ MFR’s own productions shine, too, making this a strong package that represents real house music as it should be. Recommended.
