Cats on steroids they aren’t, but the Superpumas certainly have an athletic. flexible style, happy to kick off with the breakbeat title track, then move into softly sensual vocals (‘Like I Do’) or even a more trancey approach (‘Dugdown’). Songwriting comes easily to the Swedish pair too, and ‘Clear’ is a good example with its vocoded vocal over glassy harmonies. Their versatility suits the album format perfectly, and while smooth, sultry house is what they tend to do best there’s not a track on this record to skip.
