The Chemical Brothers
Remixes
Harmless

Back in the day when The Chemical Brothers were in fact The Dust Brothers, before their US equivalents kicked up a storm and demanded they change their name, they made a remix of the Prodigy’s ‘Voodoo People’ that served notice of their arrival. Now, nearly fifteen years on and with an impressive body of work behind them, we get this excellent collection from Demon. By no means complete, it is however a fine overview of their achievements in the field, whether putting Method Man through the shredder or adding a disembodied groove to Bomb The Bass’s superb ‘Bug Powder Dust’. Beginning with said Prodigy remix, it moves through their heavy take on Leftfield’s ‘Open Up’ and a nippy remake of Primal Scream’s ‘Swastika Eyes’, arriving at one of their finest ever remixes in Dave Clarke’s ‘No One’s Driving’. For any fans this is a mandatory purchase – and is a cut high above your average remix album fodder.
