Swaby, Taylor, Dingly & Page are The Heavy, a band that lurk in the dark countryside that surrounds Bath. Their debut Counter single ‘That Kind Of Man’ gets off to an explosive start, transporting you to a smokey downtown basement, where an allstar Stax line up on acid, are doing the do on stage, joined by Led Zep, and fronted by Curtis Mayfield, and just when you thought the party couldn’t get any better. The Heavy build ‘That Kind Of Man’ into a swirling mass of psychedelic energy, shot through with a double dose of soul. The bonus cuts are the super sassy ‘Colleen’, and the gospel tinged & toked ‘Easier’. The Heavy have definitely got something special going on here.
