Most labels celebrate their ten-year anniversaries – Silver Planet take it a step further with a three disc package that offers absurdly good value for money if you’re a house fan. All three mixes – by BCML, Ben Camp and Paul Sparkes – are quality. If Sparkes’ mix just takes the crown it’s because it builds from coolly ambient beginnings to house beats that rock the dancefloor. BCML impress with their upping of the pace on Camp & Leutwyler’s ‘No, You Did Not’, along with the clever dubby crossrhythms of Ben Camp’s ‘Acid, Acid, Acid!’. Camp himself gets stuck in immediately on the second mix, dark and driving beats from Velocity and Mad Dogs complemented by his own productions. With barely a dip in sight this is a superb compilation, full of house beats that insist on being danced to.
