Seismic bass alert – as the vocal at the start goes, ‘the funky technician is back’. On CD1 this means a totally re-edited experience, the remixes of DJ Dan, Mickey Slim, Hatiras and Funk Republic solid as concrete. The rock hard beats and buzzing basslines are mixed pretty much as one, each new edit seemingly recomposed for this mix. The second CD is a blast, as Krafty remoulds 28 of the label’s finest cuts into an hour long mix that goes straight for the jugular and holds it. Powerful, energetic and downright funky, it’s unlikely you’ll find a better couple of breaks sets around at the moment.
