Steve Angello’s label has picked up this track from Dutch female dj Shinedoe (previously a drum & bass lass, now brandishing the techno flag). Deep and hypnotic, ‘Phunk’ is simple if not basic, yet the main element, a repetitive metallic percussion quickly hooks you up. Angello’s own re-edits raves things up with whitenoise snare-rolls and rushy breakdowns.
