Mark Knight’s ‘Sessions’ contribution consists of a CD of deepness followed by a mix that well and truly ruffles the party feathers. The deepish house set blends in some well chosen ‘doubles’ – Jamie Anderson’s ‘Time Is Now’ and Peace Division’s ‘Club Therapy’ working particularly well, and the Martinez Brothers’ ‘My Rendition’ spins out an ambient loop to good effect. CD2 gets off to an arresting start, Knight’s collaboration ‘Afterhours’ with Dave Spoon setting a tone for upfront funkiness that never lets up through Nic Fanciulli, Peter Gelderblom and Sydenham & Ferrer. More good stuff from the Ministry.
