The appearance of the Masters At Work is generally considered to be a pretty safe bet as far as quality selections go, and this triple pack CD easily lives up to their usual standard. CD one sees the Dope Man deliver a typically funky selection of high-impact grooves that ranges from vocally soulful cuts like Ruffneck’s ‘Baby You’ to tougher Afro rhythms such as Oreja ‘Vazilando’. Louie Vega then takes care of CD two with a deeper selection of, quite frankly, beautiful music. I love the way he weaves the tracks together and his choice of songs is undeniably first rate. You’ll find Mr V, Quentin Harris and Julien Jabre’s outstanding ‘Swimming Places’ all in the mix from this master at work. Choice.
