STUDIO ONE GROUPS
SOUL JAZZ

Soul Jazz are digging ever deeper in the Studio One vaults, and here they unearth group music from Jamaica in the 60s and 70s. Mostly made up of vocal trios, the selection includes The Stingers, who greet the ‘weekend man’ in ‘Down Presses International’. There’s cheery trumpet-based harmony from the Maytals and an easygoing chug to the reggae of The Wailing Souls and Righteous Flames, with Bob Marley, The Silvertones and the Ethiopians also included. A rewarding guide, with detailed sleeve notes as a bonus.
