Deep, dark and dirty – these are the three words you’ll definitely associate with this monster of a house compilation from Systematic. While exploring the darker side of powerful minimal house they score plenty of points for not disappearing up their own arses, keeping the dancefloor on its toes. Marc Romboy includes a couple of more obvious biggies from Tiefschwarz and Claude Von Stroke, while including Systematic’s own Stephan Bodzin and his excellent ‘Marathon Man’. Tommie Sunshine, meanwhile, gets a beefy house set off to a flyer with Sigue Sigue Sputnik, believe it or not, moving on to funky-as-you-like stuff from Jona, DJ Mehdi, Blake and the mad Induceve. A simply essential purchase for house heads.
