Music For Dreams

Kenneth Bager’s Music For Dreams imprint is currently firing out a bunch of soft-focus masterworks which indeed invoke the warm, surreal feeling of [some!] dreams. What better way to explore the sonic outer limits than dub? Not so much the pure King Tubby Jamaican sound so much as the way the music’s endless vistas and studio trickery has been assimilated into the floating Balearic vibe. Here, Ken’s roped together names as diverse as Deadbeat, DJ Disse, Laid Back and even the Dub Pistols to whip up an intoxicating stew. After Quiet Village’s atmospheric jungle sounds remix of Allez Allez’s ‘African Queen’ it’s roll a fat one, lie back and enjoy it central with many a where’s-my-melon? moment.
