It’s been a while since we welcomed Timo Maas to the dancefloor in the form of a compilation, and it’s clear from the off that a lot has happened while he’s been away. Things feel a lot slower this time around, and there is definitely a darker techno edge to proceedings. CD1 begins with a couple of magnificently moody Maas productions before gradually setting its feet to the floor, winding up for some biggies from Danny Tenaglia (‘Elements’) and Carl Craig (‘At Les’), which then dissolves into the Maas & Santos remix of William Orbit’s ‘Nimrod’. CD2 powers up with a bit more urgency, with Kenny Larkin and Alex Dolby & Santos deep but energetic, before Maas adds an acidic edge through Emmanuel Top and Hardfloor towards the end. Two very fine mixes, the dark colours and powerful beats complementing each other no end.
