The seventh colour for Freerange’s compilation series is pink – but there’s no reason for the makers of this selection to be embarrassed about the outcome in any way. As ever with the label there is some very classy deep house on show, from Andre Crom & Luca Doobie’s ‘Attica’ and Mr. Morning’s ‘Slave’ through to the nicely woozy ‘Sleeper’ of Jimpster and the calming ambience of Tony Lionni’s ‘Treat Me Right’. Complementing these are the much darker Philipp track, ‘Federation’ – proof of the variety the label has at their disposal. Through all their colours Freerange should be commended for keeping their approach to deep house a fresh and organic one – and ‘Pink’ does the business once again.
