Eddie Halliwell has a real talent for making trance music continually interesting, and his contributions to the Cream Ibiza series have seen much of his best work as a DJ. That explains why he’s been given both mixes for this year’s model, which is a sleek beast of a thing that starts coolly but ends up all hot and bothered. Halliwell paces the build up on each mix to perfection, with some more Balearic cool to open CD1 and some brilliant, powerful tracks to finish off CD2 – Richard Durand’s ‘Xelerate’ and Greg Downey’s ‘Global Code’ the pick. You definitely need this if you’re heading off to the White Isle – but even if not, you’d be well advised to check in and see what all the justifiable fuss is about.
