Dirt Crew, aka James Flavour and Break 3000 have long been charting a pure path for gonad-detonating deepness in their techno-house configurations. Their first mix CD and label compilation sees them weave together new tackle, remixes by names including Afrilounge, Gregor Tresher, Sasse, Till Von Sein and Tigerskin and some of last year’s hippo-erection standouts. Talking of Tigerskin, their ‘Peter’s Secret Weapon’ – the one which lifts the guitar riff off Pink Floyd’s ‘Shine On You Crazy Diamond’ – is enormous, also popping up on Steve Bug’s excellent new set as well as here. Elsewhere there are several Dirt Crew outings, including Falko Brocksieper’s filthily-great remix of their ‘Boogie Down’ and Motorcitysoul’s grunty treatment of ‘Manouvres’, plus the pair on solo flights [Daso’s remix of Break 3000’s ‘Bleed Like Me’ a luxurious techno glistener]. Well worth a dip of the old bell-end.
