If you’ve not kept up with the Ego Soundsystem series it has already made some really positive inroads into house music, in the company of Dirty Vegas’ Paul Harris and more latterly Wally Lopez. Here Paolo Mojo gets in on the act, and pulls a punchy set of tunes out the bag. There are a good many highlights, though not many beat the appearance of the DJ’s own ‘Disco Kiss’, a floor filling moment four tracks in. That said, the combination of Paul Harris, Steve Mac and Sam Obernik works really well on ‘Bonafide’, while as the mix strips back a bit half way through Mojo and DJ Strip offer four more quality tacks between them. This is house music doing what it does best, generating some adrenalin and forcing even the most reluctant listener into a bout of frenzied foot tapping at the very least.
