Fabric 43 Mixed BY Metro Area

It’s like London buses for Metro Area fans, with two coming along at once in the shape of Morgan Geist’s superb recent album and now this, their Fabric takeover. The vocal early on promises “your own disco experience”, and that proves to be the case – with the ’80s the decade of choice, specifically the middle of the decade. It brings a new string to Fabric’s bow – well, quite a few strings, actually – though the synths are out in force too, as Midway’s ‘Set It Out’ feels the funk. Geist’s rumoured side project Baby Oliver contributes some authentic sounds late on with ‘Feelings 2’, and in the course of 23 tracks Metro Area work up some real good feeling amongst the chunky beats.
