This is the first compilation release from the quickly growing Audiodamage label, which looks set to shine after an impressive showing at the Amsterdam Dance Event. Michael Gray’s mix gets things off to a fine start, with some particularly good stuff from Gabriel & Castellon, Gray himself and Full Intention, while Jochen Pash & Norm’s ‘Watching You’ is an especially good round-off for the first CD. Unfortunately Kid Massive’s set takes a while to grab the listener, save for a clever reworking of the Blaze sample from ‘To My Beat’, overseen by DJ Danila. While it’s perfectly well mixed there is a relative lack of variety and punch about the whole thing – even though the tracks taken in their own right are fine. All in all, still well worth hearing on the strength of Gray’s mix though – and it’s safe to say good times lie ahead for the burgeoning label.
