Defected’s House Masters series looks like being invaluable, and it rounds up the best moments from all four corners of Louie Vega’s self-made record collection. From the uplifting, slightly spiritual house tracks that feature Barbara Tucker and India through to the more sinister cuts like Lil Mo Yin Yang’s ‘Reach’, this collection does well to represent Vega’s achievements. Though most know him as the one half of Masters At Work, Defected have arranged this well to bring through tracks like Hardrive’s ‘Deep Inside’ and Ultra Nate’s ‘Divine Love’, an excellent houser with which to start CD2. Quality stuff.
