Motor City maniacs will spontaneously ejaculate when confronted by this formidable set from the esteemed Detroit nutters whose penchant for lunacy, The Funk and unabandoned mayhem singles them out as one of dance music’s most potent forces. They call it an ‘enhanced DJ set’, adding sax and vocals as they plough through a loincloth-detonating locomotive of delights old and new from names including UR, Mark Broom, Laurent Garnier, Beltram, Radio Slave, Kirk Degiorgio, Shapeshifters, Scan One, Daedelus, even 4 Hero’s ‘Mr Kirk’s Nightmare’. There’s an edit of the hard-to-find ‘Black Arse’ by Dick Tracy & Agent Orange [Jesper Dahlback and Cari Lekebusch] plus a welter of their own stuff. The mood is up, charging and mischievous, packed with twists and syrup-levitating moments. The bit where UR’s ‘The Ascension’ slides into Beltram’s ‘Intermission’ is worth the pirce of admission alone, but then so’s Dimitri Andreas’ ‘Tiger’ as it humps Ortin Cam’s ‘Visions Of Ghandhi’…You get the picture: this is hot!
