With Ibiza in full flight Rob Roar – Phonetic label mogul, and We Love Space/Manumission/Bora Bora resident – mixes up his label’s first venture into the compilation game. As befitting most homage’s to the white island this is neatly divided into the Ibiza Day (poolside and sunset disc), and as night follows day, the Ibiza Night side where quality house and leftfield dancers come to life. Leigh Devlin handles the mix proceedings on the chilled side beautifully melding track into track, layer upon layer to create an essential Balearic soundscape to all that is downbeat, blissed out and trippy. As to the peak time side Roar throws in material from his label’s extensive catalogue (Max Linen, Bodyrox, Martijn ten Velden and Paul Harris, Michael Gray, Kid Massive and Sam Obernik) along with some hot new hits. It’s all skilfully blended as you’d expect and the addition of mixes from Axwell and Deadmau5 will ensure the occasional buyer is catered for.
