Rebirth Essentials Volume One
Rebirth

Rebirth, the imprint started in 2006 by Italian producer Shield, has galvanised dancefloors and shifted many twelve-inch singles since appearing in 2006, establishing an intoxicating trademark sound built around contagious grooves, shimmering melodies and cool vocals [attracting guests like Alison Limerick, Shara Nelson and Billie Rae Martin]. This set marks the first in a series of unmixed compilations, to be released in each season of the year, featuring alternative remixes and unreleased material. It starts in fine style with three takes on ‘All I Ever Wanted’, the plaintively melodic 2006 DJs’ fave created by Buick Project’s Andy Chatterley and the Grid’s Richard Norris, now given stellar new treatments by Prince Language, Dusty Kid and Pilooski. And If’s ‘Lead You To Heaven’, featuring Alison’s vocals, first appeared in 2002, was reactivated with great success in 2006 and appears here with a luscious mix from Germany’s Manuel Tur. Other highlights include Norway’s Lil’ Wolf with three mixes of spaced masterwork ‘Deliver Me’, Adam K & Soha’s huge ‘Twilight’, Chatterley’s warped Edison side-project and Robytek’s ‘Sun’, which really got the ball rolling. They sound just as good at home.
