It’s interesting to track the development of Meat Katie, who still manages to keep a hand in each camp – house and breaks – while frequently roughing the two up together. Sessions looks at incredibly deep house to begin with, and is well mixed as tracks from Martin Eyerer, Dubfire (the excellent ‘I Feel Speed’) and Loco Dice (‘City Lights’) unfold, before slowly starting to add a bit more punch to the beat. Having lured us in to a false sense of security with his deeper house, Meat Katie then lets loose on a ripsnorting CD2 of powerful breaks, where the Plump DJs, Late of the Pier, Zoo Brazil, Dustbowl and 30 Hz set a storming pace and heavy tread, getting more reckless as the mix progresses. Top stuff.
