Not a week seems to go by without an army of deep sea diving earth voles ejaculating wildly over the latest lustrous house assault to emerge from San Francisco DJ-producer Andrew Phelan’s rotating house sperm-bank at the legendary Moulton studios. The Fingermonsters are something of a supergroup consisting of Andrew, George ‘Origami’ Cochran, Cubik and Shawn Allen, a wonderful, incestuous gaggle whose ‘Freaky Wit Da Sound’ sets up a clicky, boxy stomp, further crunched up on the ensuing Dub. ‘People’ lashes mutant rave riffs to twisted dub fry-ups and squirt action in the nether-regions, then taken by Uni.form’s Jake Childs, who adds extra bump factor and chanting. Hotbed isn’t the word.
