Supperclub: Naivety Mixed By Marcello
United Recordings

The Supperclub exploration of all nine ‘sins’ rumbles on, blissfully unaware on ‘Naivety’ that it has reached number five. As before it consists of an inventive down tempo mix, ranging far and wide in its inspiration, and a second CD that puts its pedal to the floor and gets faster as it progresses. Marcello looks after this really well, offering quality slow stuff from Extrawelt, Abraham and Floris before stepping up the tempo ever so slightly for the laid back disco of Aeroplane and the cool deep house of Williams. As CD2 gains pace the likes of Paul Kalkbrenner, Chymera and Skylark are the ones to impress, before finishing off with a cool closing duo of Kerri Chandler’s ‘Je T’aime’ and Luke Solomon’s ‘Demons’, the Brennan Green mix. If you’ve been collecting there’s no need to stop now – and if you haven’t this is a great series of really well packaged compilations that make excellent summer listening.
