Mirror System is the downbeat personality of System 7, bringing out more of the lush ambience that Steve Hillage and Miquette Giraudy have become well known for. The whole of ‘Reflector’ is blissful listening, bookended by from the timeless intro of the pair’s track ‘The Healing Feather’ and the gorgeous closing System 7 track ‘Sal Del Mar’. In between, the pair offer a really good remix of Tripswitch’s ‘Cartwheel’, while Peace Division’s ‘Voodoo (It’s In The Wall)’ gives the mix a bit more momentum, which it holds onto as things progress. What’s clear from listening to this is that the two have mastered the art of the compilation mix, pacing things to perfection – and with the inclusion of tracks from luminaries such as Sascha Funke, Trentemoller and Shlomi Aber they are on to a winner.
