This is the deeper side of Toolroom, with two extremely well crafted mixes that start off quite mellow but build over time. Funkagenda is the man responsible, and while he keeps a firm hand on the steering wheel the sets progress naturally. CD1 is especially good, moving from Ame and Jimpster through to more driving stuff from Adam Shaw, whose ‘Frog Face’ really moves through the gears. On CD2 the rush comes quicker, with the ballsy ‘Lmaoblade’ one of Funkagenda’s own, while some lovely whooshes of sound from Ritkam & Bansi accompany the accapella of Kirsty Hawkshaw’s ‘Face To Face’ towards the end. I don’t remember hearing a bad Toolroom Knights compilation yet – and this one is one of the best.
