Some might think that Tom Novy is a bit too commercial to be taking on something like a Toolroom Knights mix, but here he proves them emphatically wrong. This is a tough, steely set of house with lean basslines, as the crushing remix of Ono’s ‘No No No’ indicates, and Marusha, Dirt Crew and Nudisco continue in this vein. Wally Lopez brings a slightly Balearic feel to his set, and Matt Samuels, King Unique and Dubfire are his big guns. This is easily Toolroom’s best compilation to date, harder yet accessible house beats that press all the right buttons.
