After ‘Mandarine Girl’, one of the few minimal tracks that reached the masses, the mighty Booka Shade are back with very much the same flavour. Truly accomplished musicians Walter Merziger and Arno Kammermeier have a unique way of programming beats and melodies as showcased on their great second LP ‘Movements’ (the best thing Get Physical’s ever put out). On the second 12”, they also provide the summery Mexico remix, a gentle rework referring to the open-air parties they’ve been invited to on the beaches of Yucatan in Mexico. On the flip female Dutch DJ/producer and Intaco records boss Shinedoe opts for a deeper, techier mood, with hypnotic keys and swirling effects aplenty.
