Ever since Super Discount, Etienne has spearheaded the French sound,
boosting the country’s disco profile with gigs and continuing to release
records like the ‘Commercial EP’. This second volume continues the spikey,
grungy electro feel which the kids love these days. ‘Punk’ marries laptop
riffs with space invader interludes and the sound of a 303 straining on the
bog. ‘Funk’ is more of the same with a big, ringing drop, getting a chunky,
ringtone ad rework from Italy’s Bloody Beetroots.
