Well, they should have been talking about electro-house because this gem is genuinely plucked from the heavens. Take one minx of a moog bass-line, various raunchy bleeps, a most excellent punky-vocal by the producer and slide in the most iconic guitar riff in history ‘smoke on the water’ – right up to the hilt. This slice of sound crackles with energy. On his first solo release in over a year, Pete Martin has claimed a little piece of vintage Deep Purple for his own super-fresh adults-only groove-fest. But clichéd this is NOT. After the recent successes of Coburn, Petes Frontier label is on blistering form with its head-honcho supplying the under-the-counter goods. Dance-floor mayhem.
