New Young Pony Club has (strangely) been lumped with the whole ‘new-rave’ scene lately. It’s working in their favour as the NME seems to have taken a liking to them but it remains to be seen if this time next year they’ll still be pleased with an association that seems so irrelevant to their sound. Latest single ‘The Bomb’ is another catchy funk tune with new-wave overtones that you want to put on and on, shame the remixes from the likes of Phones, Kaos etc don’t really do it any justice.
