OUT HUD
ONE LIFE TO LEAVE
!K7

Some kind of committed collective, Out Hud are a bunch of musicians from various backgrounds and they’ve got a hot 12” about (as well as an interesting album ‘Let Us Never Speak Of It Again’). The ‘Put It Away, Put It Away, Put It Away Dad’ mix has to be heard to be believed. A cloud of skunk and a bass line to die for, with accompanying eighties Danceteria synths and dubbed-out fx, this is rolling and so much fun too  (at a particularly cheeky plus six). With killer structure and production, ‘One Life To Leave’ is hypnotic funk, kind of The Clash’s ‘Magnificent Seven’ or Tom Tom Club’s ‘Wordy Rappinghood’ on magic mushrooms.
