PRYDA

Eric Prydz must be the most sought after remixer on earth right now but that doesn’t stop him from putting very decent tracks on his own imprint Pryda. The third release – and the best so far – ‘Nile’ starts off as a pumping backing track (think Daft Punk’s ‘Revolution’ on an electro-house tip) then halfway through an exquisite italo-disco synth riff turns up out of nowhere to send shivers down the dancefloor’s spine (129 BPM). Saturday night fever guaranteed. Armstrong and Redroche deliver a strong one-sided 12”. Their instrumental of ‘Love Has Gone’ is in that French/Bangalter style – a filtered MOR sample (heroic guitars & keys) that’s been kick-compressed to fuck. Loud and raw business (125).
