Produced by Max Heyes who, after working with Primal Scream and The Doves, has overlooked the 4’s forthcoming new album, this first extract – with its engaging piano anchor – instantly feels more tuneful than much of the New York rockers’ previous work. It’s very likely that if The Clash had not broken up so early in their short-lived existence, they would have ended up sounding like “Party Crashers”. On the remix front, Headman combines the glorious punky vocals with another of his live-ish electrofunk backing track for a couple of mixes that recall The Rapture’s best moments. Ashley Beedle on the flip gets the mirror ball and Disco strings out for a more conventional yet effective housed-up interpretation.
