Who said grime wasn’t allowed to be musical? New label Widow unleashes Kid Dea a seventeen-year-old prodigy who stands out from the bragging macho crowd. On the ‘2nd Realm EP’ he turns out six cinematic, quirky and melodic instrumentals (with few vocal snippets thrown in) that take edgy urban down-tempo grooves to new heights. This kid can write some music and certainly isn’t scared of trying stuff, throwing in the equation orchestra samples, squelchy synths, trip-hop or old-school electro moods and some soulful accents.
