The brain behind new imprint Superfreq, Mr C is also half of The Sycophant Slags with Francis Harris. One among several of the duo’s releases to surface at the moment, ‘Cklanger’ is a groover that’s kind of retro and current at the same time. With its robot bass and crisp 808 percs, this could be Black Strobe in contemplating mood (125 BPM). In a similar impulse to Germany’s Get Physical, the idea is to go back to the origins of electronic dance music and come up with expressive results that stay away from the formulaic dance of today.
