FRANK STORM & MATTEO SPEDICATI ‘Gimme Da Honey EP’ (HOT CREATIONS)

Frank Storm has been a key player on the White Isle having played at some of the Island’s biggest clubs; Space, Sankey’s, Pacha, Ministry of Sound and Zoo Project, as well holding down a residency at the night Unusual Suspects. Matteo Spedicati began releasing music in 2006 and has received support from Ricardo Villalobos and Richie Hawtin. Since then he’s gone on to work with such high profile names as Joseph Capriati and Mendo, as well as releasing records on an abundance of top labels. His co-producer Matteo Spedicati is on the rise as well with shining productions on labels like Amam or Celesta.
As good and driving the Original of ‘Gimme Da Honey’ on the ever reliable Hot Creations imprint might be, it is all about Robsoul label boss Phil Weeks’ impressive interpretation of the track, that pushes it onto the next level. Of course we can hear some Armand Van Helden in the background, but the mix is one of the best funky peaktime rollers I’ve heard in some time. Try it for yourself and see what funkiness is able to deliver-even today!
The EP closes with The Long Wait shaking the record into heavier terrain, as the industrial keys are underpinned by a flurry of tough drums. Great!
