Deepgroove’s “golden egg award” for balls out peak time oddness has to go to D Ramirez & James Mowbray for their latest Four:Twenty release. Its treading a fine line between greatness and grot with a Theremin sound straight from a 60’s Scifi B Move. The rest however’ is a wigged warehouse outing with enough rhythmic punch to sink a battleship. In keeping with previous efforts the breakdown is stupidly big. Remember those groups of Spanish clapping people in night clubs – well here they are on vinyl. On the flip the also barmy H-Man delivers a super tight remix for the mental. It’s all warbling bass’ heavy drums’ delayed stabs and peak time madness that we have to say is the one for us. Rock on.
