There’s something so funky, yet so unrelenting about this EP’s title track that almost defies description. ‘You’re The Same’ is driven by such a feverish energy that it leaves you breathless, which is not unreasonable due to the nature of the deep, dark bassline and heavy-duty fx employed here, while the fizzy hi-hats give it all a definite swing. The self-fulfilling, ‘Valium & LFO’s’ follows with brilliant brutal beats, moody tripped-out voices and yet more irresistible rhythms. Leaving the skippy, almost melodic in comparison, ‘The Nature of Keys’ to end this excellent release on Adam Beyer’s sister imprint to Drumcode.
