If you like slick tech music with a real message, then this new EP on Loot is for you. It is the labels fifth release and is a real winner, coming as it does from the acclaimed duo of Alec Chizhik & Markus Mehta. Their original is the standout track but the two remixes from Junior Gee and Luminér help bolster a great package. First up, Music asks what life would be without music. The answer, obviously, is rubbish, but the track is not – it is a spooky, trippy late night cut that is full of rainy melody and slick grooves. The spoken word vocals are somewhat reminiscent of Eddie Amador’s house classic and as such this is sure to be an anthem. The pick of the remixes is one from top Italian twosome Luminér, who go deep, layering in rich drums and psyched out synths that really get your attention. Lastly, junior Gee offers a much more raw, basic and stripped back track that will appeal to backrooms everywhere.
