You probably haven’t heard of Andy Bros, but you will hear a lot more of him after this. He is a producer from Italy with more than 10 years of DJ gigs behind him. He is a skilled studio engineer and here gets a leg up from the good at Hamburg label Diynamic. Solomun opts to give Bros a full solo Ep of his own, and in turn he repays the big Croatian with the sort of epic main room house cuts that make his own set so charming.
The pick of the bunch for me might just be Pleiadi, which is the final track of the EP. It i a sumptuously crafted cut that really sweeps you off your feet with its fine melody and sweeping synths. The sort of thing that will stand out in any set it really fits in with this label’s current sound. Vino & Fagottini is similar in that is is all about getting your attention in subtle ways. Slick beats, uplifting chords and spaced out pads all make sure you are happy as they take you up and up and up. Last but not least is Essenza, a patient affair with rubber kicks, ticking hits and well crafted synths that are truly musical. They really inject the cut with elegance and grace and with the other two tracks, all in all this makes for a spiritual, really emotional trip of the sort we don’t hear so often on the dance floor.
