There is severe pedigree running amok in this new teamup between veteran Freakster and Space DJ Kenny and David Parr, whose Stompaphunk in Brighton has been an absolute hotbed of house music whoopee for years. The impossibly-hot Rekids is a great launch pad from which these two to uncork a true belter. After the lengthy percussive intro with mad cowbell action, it lets fly with a contagious Italo-tribal killer which shows how several years experience blowing off the collective dance-floor testicles can result in a euphoric summer anthem which is sonically spot on and even innovative at the same time. Above all, it rocks like a donkey’s bell-end. There are also spectacular remixes from Mr G [in soaring techno mode] and Toby Tobias getting down on the groove. Quality devastation.
