Brendan Moeller’s happening new label continues to make a hefty dent with the man himself looming under his renowned Beat Pharmacy banner [after launching under his name with the still-sizzling and highly-recommended ‘Escape’ and sublimely-deep ‘Snowblower’ EP by Echologist, which slipped through my much-abused net for some reason]. The original is 120bpm deep house lashed with skewed synths, haunted chords and piano flourishes. Echospace’s Stephen Hitchell adopts his Intrusion persona for a stripped-down pulser of a remix before the mighty Bearweasel excel themselves with heavy duty dub which seems to breathe heavily from the Earth’s core as ingenious synth layers collide and swell, along with great slorchy effects. There’s a second more direct version too. Definitely a label to watch in 2010 but try and track down these three.
