Benno Blome Ft. Big Bully – Moving Free – (Artreform)

Ukrainian label Artreform has welcomed a host of big names over the years, with Benno Blome just one of those individuals. The German is renowned for his on-point and consistent way of working, and such traits were definitely showcased on his Moving Free EP on Artreform. So how better to pay homage to the merits of the original than to release a remix package of the original? The label seem to agree, and so it is here that we’re introduced to a whole new way of looking at Blome’s succinct original.

Up first, unusually, is Blome himself, who gives the original a new lick of paint in just the sort of emphatic fashion you’d expect from a man with his standing. Downtrodden but full of haunting sounds and hidden crevices aplenty, it’s the sort of track that gets under the skin but keeps listeners in check too. The opther carefully chosen remixers are Rhadow and Tripmastaz, and it’s Rhado w who gies first. The Romanian drops a spiky interpretation of the original, while Tripmastaz brings a really nice dose of melody to the fore with his key filled remix. Really gorgeous stuff from a man who seems to barely put a foot wrong these days. Brilliant stuff!
