Bordertown x EZLV feat Freya – Things Should Go – (Nurvous Records)
DMC World Magazine
Revivalist house might be all the rage of late, but if you’re looking for a soothing house track to warm your winter cockles around this time of year, then EZLV and Bordertown’s latest collab for Nurvous should do just the trick. The NYC label – with its penchant for old-school garage tropes and top-notch house fare – is amongst the best in the game at churning out such offerings, and on their latest, they’ve rolled a proverbial 6 in the A&R stakes. The action kicks off courtesy of ‘Things Should Go’, which sees vocalist Freya take centre stage alongside a really polished and refined house beat. Sexy and dark, this is a mysterious piece of house music that’ll sound best when the night needs an added injection of pace. A surefire hit, it’d sound just as comfortable in Ibiza as it would in the environs of Panorama Bar. The B-side is no less entertaining, as Stil & Bense come up with a more ominous remix that’s indicative of Nurvous at its potent best. They elongate the bassline and mess with the vocals, the end result being one that beautifully plays on the original’s energy. This one will be getting plenty of plays way into the new year.
